History has been the witness of the innumerous and unregulated strikes that have taken place in our country because of some or the other reason. Sometimes, people call for a hunger strike while sometimes it is termed as Bharat Band. Just like what happened today. This is undoubtedly the most upsetting situation that has given a wide blow to the economy of the country. Thousands and thousands of shops and outlets are being shut down because of this reason. It is indeed a high time people start thinking realistically and sensibly. Going on a 24-hour strike for a day, do not seem to be a possible solution for the fulfillment of the demands. After all, there are other ways to wake our queer government. Going on a nationwide strike would not do anything good. In fact, it would aggravate the matter. Further, most of us are in a wrong notion that the Indian government would wake up and address our grievances through such dharnaas. Little do we realize that such corrupt people who are the result of our sowing only (we elected them) have closed their eyes so tightly that no matter whatever strikes happen, it would hardly affect them.
With the government deregulating fuel prices and increasing FDIs, everyone would suffer by some or the other means. The most affected class would be certainly the common people. Unmistakably, the ongoing strike would only worsen the matter. The need of this hour is a convention of an emergency assembly so that both the governments and the alliance parties sort things out and actually ponder on the desolation’s of people rather than playing politics.
Compromise is the word that the political parties must learn to incorporate instead of playing those mindless, dirty politics over millions of lives.
For the common man, let us not waste our time in organizing and supporting strikes. Reason being that our ruthless government would ultimately forget it the next day. We need to come up with better alternatives.
While the ruling party is hiking prices of the basic commodities and the opposition is calling for a Bharat band for the same. Hasn’t irrationality gone too far? Sadly, if this continues for a while, we might end up in a state that would be beyond regretting too. The need of this hour is to stand up and raise your voice. Moreover, as for the strike, do you think that these parties do even care other than to consolidate their vote bank? Certainly not.
